Proper mail settings for Outlook and Outlook Express
This page is the instruction page. You will either need to print these out so you can use them with your outlook express or you can switch between the two. The images below are not something you can click on. They are pictures that show you how things will look in your email program.
Click on Tools, then accounts

This will open the Internet Accounts Window
Click once on your account name (steve in this example) and then click on properties
What is next to the green dot is not important. If you have more than one mail account it helps you identify which is which.
Next to the red dot is the name people will see when they get mail from you.
Next to the blue dot is your email address. This must be a chase3000.com account or one of the domains that we host.
Yes, I know the colored dots are not present on your computer. I put them on this image so you could follow where I was pointing to.

Click on the Servers tab
Make sure your incoming and outgoing lines have mail.chase3000.com Note the pink arrows. It is important that the word mail. is present.
Your account name is your email username without the @chase3000.com part
Click on the white box, placing a checkmark in, My server requires authentication
DO NOT put a check mark in the "Log on using Secure Password
Authentication" box.
If you do, then you will no longer be able to get mail.
The checkmark in the blue circle is important. Do not ignore it.
Click OK
Then Close on the next screen
Now close outlook express and restart the program. You do not need to restart your computer but you can if you like.
