Building Construction Class Builds Garage
One of the many hands on classes in CCHS is Building Construction. The class has been offered for the last three years and is taught by Ed Fisher. "I think that getting out and actually doing the work by hand instead of learning it from books is a better way for the kids to learn," said Fisher. There are a total of 18 students in the class during three periods. "I feel this is a good class because it can save you money even if you are not a carpenter, because labor is about half the cost of building a new house," said Fisher. The students leave the classroom and go to the job site. "I like this class because it offers a hands on experience, and you get to get out of the normal class routine," said Oscar C.
